Members Not Syncing

If pending member requests aren't appearing in GroupHunter, follow these steps.

Quick Fixes

  1. Check the group is enabled — Go to Groups, the toggle must be ON
  2. Open the right Facebook page — You must open the group's Members → Membership Requests page, not the group's main page
  3. Check the extension is running — The GroupHunter icon should be visible in Chrome
  4. Manually trigger sync — Click Sync Pending Members in the GroupHunter overlay on Facebook

Step-by-Step

Step 1: Confirm the Group is Enabled

  1. Go to Groups in the GroupHunter sidebar
  2. Find the group in question
  3. The toggle next to it must be on (green/blue)
  4. If it's off, click to enable it

Step 2: Open the Correct Facebook Page

GroupHunter syncs from the Membership Requests page specifically:

  1. Go to Facebook
  2. Open your Group
  3. In the left sidebar, click Members
  4. Click Membership Requests (or "Requests")
  5. The GroupHunter overlay should appear on this page

If there are no pending requests on Facebook, there's nothing to sync — GroupHunter can only see requests that exist on Facebook.

Step 3: Trigger a Sync

The sync doesn't happen automatically on page load — you trigger it:

  1. On the Membership Requests page, look for the GroupHunter overlay
  2. Click Sync Pending Members
  3. Wait a few seconds
  4. Go to Members → Pending in the dashboard to see synced members

Step 4: Check Extension Status

If the GroupHunter overlay doesn't appear on the Facebook Membership Requests page:

  • See Extension Not Detected for troubleshooting steps
  • Make sure you're using Chrome (not Safari, Firefox, or Edge)
  • Ensure the extension is enabled at
    chrome://extensions

Step 5: Check for Facebook Page Layout Changes

Facebook occasionally updates its interface. If the extension can't find the membership requests section:

  • Try refreshing the page
  • Check you're on
    facebook.com/groups/[groupid]/members
    → click Requests tab
  • Make sure the group is private (GroupHunter works with private groups that have membership questions)

Members Appearing as Duplicate?

This can happen if the sync runs multiple times before the first sync is complete. GroupHunter deduplicates by Facebook user ID — duplicates are merged automatically. If you still see duplicates, contact support.
