Connecting Your Facebook Account
GroupHunter needs access to your Facebook session to read and manage Group member requests. This guide explains how the connection works and how to set it up securely.
How Facebook Connection Works
GroupHunter does not store your Facebook username or password. We use your existing Facebook browser session to interact with Group admin pages.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
- You log into Facebook in your Chrome browser (as usual)
- The GroupHunter extension detects your active Facebook session
- When you visit Facebook Group admin pages, the extension can read member data
- The extension performs actions (approve/decline) by simulating clicks on the page
No Facebook API is used. Everything happens through the browser, just like you clicking manually.
Connection Process
Step 1: Log Into Facebook
- Open Chrome
- Go to facebook.com
- Log in with your usual credentials
- Make sure "Keep me logged in" is checked (recommended)
Use the Facebook account that has admin access to the Groups you want to manage.
Step 2: Verify Extension Detection
- Click the GroupHunter icon in Chrome toolbar
- The popup should show:
- ✅ Facebook Status: Logged in
- Your Facebook name and profile picture
If it shows "Not logged in":
- Refresh Facebook
- Click the extension icon again
- Make sure you're actually logged into Facebook
Step 3: Test Access
To confirm the connection works:
- Go to Facebook
- Navigate to any Group where you're an admin
- Click Members → Membership requests
- You should see the GroupHunter overlay appear
The overlay confirms that:
- Facebook is connected ✓
- The extension can read the page ✓
- You're ready to sync members ✓
Security & Privacy
What GroupHunter Can Access
GroupHunter only accesses:
- Facebook Group admin pages (membership requests, members list)
- Group member names, profile URLs, and membership question answers
- Your Facebook user ID and name (for display in the dashboard)
GroupHunter cannot access:
- Your News Feed
- Your private messages
- Your friends list
- Your photos or posts
- Your Facebook password
How Your Data Is Protected
- No password storage — We never see or store your Facebook login
- Session-based — Uses your browser's existing Facebook session
- Limited scope — Only reads data you can already see as a Group admin
- Encrypted transmission — All data sent to the dashboard is encrypted (HTTPS)
- Ban-safe — Smart delays and rate limiting prevent detection
GroupHunter is designed to comply with Facebook's Terms of Service. We do not use automated bots or unofficial APIs. All actions are performed through the browser extension, mimicking natural human behavior.
Multiple Facebook Accounts
Switching Accounts
If you manage Groups with multiple Facebook accounts:
- Log out of Facebook in Chrome
- Log into the different Facebook account
- The extension will automatically detect the new session
- Sync your Groups from the new account
One GroupHunter license works with one Facebook account at a time. To manage multiple Facebook profiles simultaneously, purchase additional licenses.
Using Chrome Profiles
For easier multi-account management:
- Create separate Chrome profiles (Chrome menu → Settings → Manage profiles)
- Install GroupHunter in each profile
- Log into a different Facebook account in each profile
- Each profile can have its own GroupHunter dashboard login
