Lead Capture & Scoring
GroupHunter automatically extracts contact information from Facebook Group membership question answers and assigns each member a lead score from 0–100.
How Lead Capture Works
When a member requests to join your Facebook Group and answers membership questions, the GroupHunter extension:
- Reads the membership question answers
- Scans for emails and phone numbers using pattern recognition
- Validates the formats
- Stores the contact info alongside the member record in your dashboard
- Calculates a lead score
This happens automatically when the extension syncs pending members — no manual work required.
Tip — Ask specific membership questions like "What's your email address?" or "Best way to contact you?" to maximise capture rates.
Email Extraction
GroupHunter recognises emails in any answer field, even if they're embedded in a sentence:
- → captures
"My email is john@example.com"john@example.com - → captures
"Contact me at: jane.doe@company.co.uk"jane.doe@company.co.uk - Plain email addresses without surrounding text
Emails that fail format validation (e.g.
john@notanemailPhone Number Extraction
Phone numbers are captured in various formats:
+1 (555) 123-456707911 123456+44 7700 900123- Numbers embedded in answers:
"call me on 0207 123 4567"
International formats are supported. Numbers that don't meet minimum length requirements are discarded.
Lead Scoring (0–100)
Each member gets an automatic lead score calculated at capture time:
| Factor | Points |
|---|---|
| Email provided | +30 |
| Phone number provided | +20 |
| All questions answered | +20 |
| Answer quality (length & detail) | up to +30 |
A score of 100 means the member provided all contact details, answered every question, and gave detailed responses. A score of 0 means no contact info and blank/minimal answers.
Viewing Lead Scores
Lead scores are visible:
- On the All Members page in the lead score column
- On individual member detail views
- In the Declined Members page
- In your Google Sheet (synced per approved member)
Filtering by Lead Score
On the All Members page, use the Lead Score filter to show only members above a certain threshold. For example, filter to 60+ to see only high-quality leads.
What Happens to Captured Data
- All captured lead data is stored securely in your GroupHunter account
- If you've set up Google Sheets via Per-Group Settings, approved members' data (including email, phone, score) is written to your sheet automatically
- Data is not shared with third parties
Lead Capture in the Declined Members Page
Even declined members have their lead data captured and stored. Check the Declined Members page to see if any high-scoring leads were declined by automation and warrant a second look.
