Installing the Chrome Extension

The GroupHunter Chrome extension is the engine that connects your browser to Facebook. It syncs pending member requests, executes approvals, sends messages, and captures lead data.

Installation

The extension is installed as part of the GroupHunter onboarding flow. When you first sign up and complete the initial steps, you'll be prompted to install it.

If you need to install it manually:

1. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for GroupHunter
2. Click Add to Chrome
3. Click Add Extension in the confirmation popup
4. The GroupHunter icon appears in your Chrome toolbar

Chrome Only — GroupHunter currently requires Google Chrome. Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave) may work but are not officially supported.

Pinning the Extension

To keep the extension icon visible:

1. Click the puzzle piece icon in Chrome's toolbar (top-right)
2. Find GroupHunter in the list
3. Click the pin icon next to it

This makes it easy to see the extension's status at a glance.

How the Extension Works

Once installed, the extension:

• Runs silently in the background when Chrome is open
• Activates automatically when you open a Facebook Group admin page (Membership Requests section)
• Shows a GroupHunter overlay on the Facebook page
• Syncs pending member requests to your dashboard when triggered
• Executes automation actions (approve, decline, message) on your behalf

The extension does not require you to keep a special page open. It activates when you're on the right Facebook page.

Dashboard Extension Status

Your dashboard shows whether the extension is detected. If the extension is installed and running, the status indicator will show green/connected. If it shows "not detected":

• Make sure the extension is installed in Chrome (visit

  chrome://extensions

  )
• Make sure it's enabled (the toggle is on)
• Refresh the dashboard page
• Check that you're in the same Chrome browser where the extension is installed

Info — The extension detection uses a real-time message ping. Open the dashboard and the Facebook group admin page in the same browser session for best results.

Keeping the Extension Updated

Chrome updates extensions automatically. You can also manually check:

1. Go to

   chrome://extensions

2. Enable Developer mode (top-right toggle)
3. Click Update
