Importing Your Groups
The Groups page is where you manage which Facebook Groups GroupHunter monitors and automates. Everything starts here.
Syncing Groups
To import your groups:
- Go to Groups in the sidebar
- Click Sync Groups
- The extension scans your Facebook account and imports all groups where you're an admin
- Your groups appear in the list within a few seconds
Info — The Chrome extension must be installed and running, and you must be logged into Facebook in the same browser. See Installing the Extension if needed.
You can re-sync at any time to pick up new groups or refresh the list.
Enabling a Group
Syncing imports your groups — but it doesn't automatically start automation. You need to explicitly enable each group you want GroupHunter to monitor:
- Find the group in your list
- Click the toggle switch next to it to enable it
- The toggle turns green, and the group is now active
Enabled groups are watched for pending member requests each time you open their Facebook admin page with the extension running.
Tip — After enabling a group for the first time, you'll see a prompt to configure its settings. Click Settings to set up automation — this is the most important step.
Group Limit
Depending on your plan, you can enable a limited number of groups simultaneously. The Groups page shows your current usage (e.g. "2 of 5 groups enabled"). Upgrade your plan if you need to enable more.
Configuring a Group
Once a group is enabled, click Settings next to it to open the per-group configuration wizard. This is where you set up:
- Google Sheets integration — sync approved members' data to a spreadsheet
- Auto-approve criteria — what makes a member request approvable
- Auto-decline criteria — what gets automatically declined
- Welcome and decline messages — sent automatically when members are processed
See Per-Group Settings for the full configuration guide.
The Setup Banner
If you have synced groups but none are configured yet, the Groups page shows a setup guide banner to walk you through the steps. This disappears once you've configured at least one group.
Disabling a Group
To stop GroupHunter from processing a group, toggle it off. The group remains in your list (you won't need to re-sync), and you can re-enable it at any time. Existing member data is preserved.
Re-syncing
Click Sync Groups any time to:
- Add newly created groups
- Add groups where you've recently become an admin
- Refresh the group list
The last sync time is displayed at the top of the Groups page.
